Our Mission

Bethel Baptist Church is a local New Testament congregation seeking to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission in Rochester, SE Minnesota, and throughout the world.

As Christ reached out to minister to people of all ages and backgrounds, we at Bethel desire to do the same.

Bethel Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Minnesota Wisconsin Baptist Convention, and the Pioneer Baptist Association.

Statement of Faith

We pledge to use the Holy Bible as the basis of our teachings and to use Southern Baptist curriculum and materials that support the 1963 statement of the “Baptist Faith and Message”, which defines our doctrinal statement of faith.

Believing that Christ is the head of the Church, we, being a body of baptized believers, seek through love to glorify God. We endeavor to:

  • Worship individually and together, experiencing an awareness of God’s presence, recognizing His person, and responding in love to His Lordship. Psalm 66:1-4; Matthew 22:37.
  • Proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and to encourage the world to make a personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, through worship, witness, education, example, and ministry. Matthew 28: 19-20.
  • Equip and encourage individual Christians to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, to discover their gifts of service, to experience the blessings of God’s promises and to grow in Christian faith and maturity. Ephesians 4: 11-13; Hebrews 10: 24-25.
  • Minister, as a body of believers, to the needs of the whole person, providing acceptance, comfort, forgiveness, and strength to all, using the spiritual and material resources God has placed at our disposal. Matthew 25: 35-40.
  • Fellowship. We will share our lives together in Christian fellowship. Acts 2: 42-47; 1John1: 5-7.
  • Missions. We will promote and sacrificially support ongoing SBC missions causes locally (MWBC Care & Share), nationally (NAMB Annie Armstrong), and internationally (IMB Lottie Moon).
